New headquarters for one of Kansas City’s premier coffee operations came with more than a change of address when it relocated to the Power & Light District this spring; the family-run company has a new name as it pours more energy into brewing wholesale business with national chains.
Paris Brothers — the long-running specialty food and beverage company behind Parisi Coffee — is now doing business as Paris Group, a new corporate name and brand identity reflecting the full scope of a business now spanning coffee sourcing and roasting, contract manufacturing, warehousing, fulfillment, distribution, and a portfolio of owned consumer brands.
“The name we started with described who we were in 1983 — two brothers selling specialty food. It stopped describing what we actually do some time ago,” said Joe Mario Paris, President of Paris Group. “We roast tens of millions of pounds of coffee a year, we run more than a million square feet of warehousing, we build private label programs for national retailers, and we own our own consumer brands. Paris Group is the name that fits the business in 2026 and speaks to everything we can do.”
Paris Group remains privately held and family owned, with the same leadership team, ownership, facilities, and customer relationships, he emphasized, acknowledging the company’s founders have moved to board roles while the next generation and an expanded leadership team focus on growth.
The corporate team moved operations this spring to a 16,000-square-foot space at 13th Street and Baltimore Avenue — relocating the evolving brand to the heart of an entertainment district ahead of the summer’s FIFA World Cup games.
Its new downtown space features dedicated space for client meetings, coffee cupping, and product development. Moreover, it provides a more streamlined physical space at which the team can focus on Paris Group’s four integrated priority areas:
- Full-service coffee — green coffee sourcing across more than 25 global origins, specialty and commercial roasting, contract manufacturing, private and white label program development, packaging, e-commerce, and café programs.
- Warehousing, logistics, and fulfillment — more than 1.2 million square feet of food-grade storage across ambient, refrigerated, and frozen zones, with covered rail access, Foreign Trade Zone–approved space, and 3PL, kitting, and e-commerce fulfillment support.
- Distribution — direct store delivery, specialty, and foodservice distribution, including order management, replenishment, merchandising, and store-level retail execution.
- Portfolio of brands — Parisi Coffee, Mother Earth Organic Coffee, Cervasi, Margarita’s Amigos, and Luigi Bonura’s.
The Paris Group name arrives after four decades of adding capabilities in response to customer needs, said Tonya Mangels, head of marketing for Paris Group. Cervasi Italian Foods launched in the late 1980s, production and freight followed in the 1990s, and logistics, inventory management, and regional distribution came in 2000.
Joe Paris’ father and uncle opened their first roasting facility in 2006. Twenty years later, Parisi Coffee is the largest local and family-owned coffee company in Kansas City with cafe locations in Union Station, Overland Park, Argosy Casino, and the new airport terminal at KCI.
The company’s new positioning centers on a single idea, Mangels said: most companies supply one piece of a brand’s operation, and the seams between those pieces are where growth stalls.
That philosophy already has led Paris Group’s operations to pick, pack and ship more than 4,000 orders weekly across retail, wholesale, foodservice, and e-commerce channels, serving customers in all 50 states and international markets.
“Craft and scale are usually treated as a trade-off — you either make something exceptional in small batches or you make a lot of it,” said Mangels. “Our operating model is a rejection of that premise, and the brand had to say so.”
Developed internally under Mangels, Paris Group’s new brand identity is anchored by a guiding principle — “Elevating Craft. Scaling Possibility.” — and a redesigned PG monogram whose circular form signals authority and whose arrow motif signals forward momentum, she said.
“Everything from the mark to the palette was built to carry both a microlot coffee and a national private label program,” Mangels continued. “We had an incredible story, but the market couldn’t see the full company behind it.”
Rollout for the new branding is expected to continue throughout the rest of 2026, she added, teasing a refreshed look across facility signage, fleet graphics, packaging, customer-facing materials, and Paris Group’s digital experience.
“Our opportunity was bigger than a rebrand — we needed to connect decades of entrepreneurial businesses and capabilities into one clear story — and build a brand and platform that could turn that story into growth,” Mangels said.
