Startland is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Members have no influence over editorial content. Startland adheres to editorial independence standards set by the Institute for Nonprofit News.
Craig Moore II
Board Chair
Craig joined the Startland board in 2024, bringing a passion for equity, culture, and community storytelling. As the founder of Black Excellence, he builds platforms that celebrate and elevate Black voices across Kansas City. A creative entrepreneur and community connector, Craig champions representation, collaboration, and opportunity — values at the heart of Startland’s mission.

Treasurer
CJ joined the Startland board in 2024, bringing deep experience in finance, operations, and sustainable growth. A strategic thinker with a passion for innovation and community impact, he helps guide Startland’s path toward long-term stability and expansion across Kansas City’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Scott Henderson
Secretary
A connector and catalyst, Scott joined the Startland News board in 2024, bringing two decades of experience leading innovation ecosystems from Atlanta to Nebraska. As managing principal of NMotion powered by gener8tor, he helps founders turn ideas into impact. A Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach and longtime startup champion, Scott’s work blends creativity, community, and action — the same values that drive Startland forward.
